CrossFit Valley of the Moon will be hosting a Fundraiser workout for four individuals that were injured during the fire fighting operations at the Valley Fire on September 12th 2015. The individuals are part of an elite unit of firefighters know as helitack that operates on Copter 104. During the initial attack phase of the fire, that later became the 3rd most destructive fire in California History, four of the seven person crew were overcome by heat and fire while protecting houses in the community of Cobb. With extremely dry conditions and unpredictable winds that reached 60 mph the fire fighters suffered burns to their hands, arms, and faces while battling the fire. Their injuries had them sent to UC Davis burn center where they were all treated for serious burn injuries. The firefighter community is much like the CrossFit community in that however large it may be, it still has that small family feel. And there is that mutual respect earned for each other by putting in hard work each and every day. As a gesture of appreciation to these firefighters that fought for peoples homes and lives that day, I ask that our community step up and help these four individuals in kind.
We will be hosting this workout on Saturday December 12th.
Any donation will be appreciated and helpful. The following workout will be in their honor:
104 Wall Balls 20/14
104 Pull Ups
104 Push Ups
104 Sit Ups
104 Box Jumps
* At end run 1 1/4 miles
